SOCIO-POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC IMPLICATIONS OF THE 25TH CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT OF PAKISTAN

Abstract

The merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a significant step of the government of Pakistan to address the law-and-order situation and bring this region into the mainstream. Bringing FATA into the mainstream has a profound impact on political, economic and social aspects of the region. In this research study, the researcher described the process of merger of FATA into KP. At the same time, this study highlighted the political, economic and social implications of this merger for the region. The research approach for the paper is qualitative and methodology includes secondary data analysis on the issue and documentation of the main focus on the topic. The theory of integration has been selected for the concerned study. This research paper is concluded that this integration will bring peace and prosperity, and development in the region. The recent integration will not only bring administrative and infrastructural development in the region, but will also create better opportunities for new jobs, businesses, greater development, better communication and positive social change.
