Afghanistan Today: An Analysis of Issues and Challenges

Abstract

The Taliban take over in Afghanistan in August 2021 has been viewed as a very critical moment in the history of the world. This created great unrest in the regional politics since the US has already announced their total withdrawal from the country as a result of the US-Taliban Peace Process signed on 28th February 2020. Objective of the study is to analyze the current scenario in Afghanistan coupled with the issues and challenges. Research questions include the issues faced by the current government, hurdles faced by the women and girls in public life, economic and humanitarian crises, to find and the role of regional dynamics in bringing peace and stability to the region. The study is very significant on account of its focus on the burning issue that Afghanistan has been confronted with. Only a viable government representative all the stakeholders in the country can be a panacea to resolve all the issues of the country and bring in peace and harmony to the people.
