Child Malnutrition in Pakistan Prevalence and Risk Factors of Malnutrition in Children under 5 Years

Abstract

Among developing nations, Pakistan has among the highest rates of child malnourishment. The purpose of this review article was to investigate the empirical research that has been published regarding the nutritional status of children under five years old in Pakistan. This review set aimed to learn regarding the approaches to the methodology employed in earlier research, evaluate the general state of child malnutrition, and pinpoint unexplored areas. Finding out how prevalent it is and the risk factors related to primary malnutrition in children under the age of five was the aim of the study. However, the research has shown that children under the age of five had an extremely high rate of primary malnutrition. Throughout the literature research, it was discovered that certain themes continually are the risk factors of malnutrition in kids which include, early marriages, big families, high birth rates with no spacing between babies, low income, not nursing, and special breastfeeding. However, it was concluded that m qualitative and mixed-method studies are of the utmost importance to comprehend and gain an understanding of the fundamental causes of malnutrition among children in Pakistan.
